Kitty Love

I have a pretty wild little cat.  She was found at 4 weeks in a blackberry bush, missing a back paw and was the sweetest thing, so tiny and so full of life.  Well 6 years later she is a feisty little girl.  The past few nights she has been going out late and not coming home until after we are asleep.  She is usually my alarm clock in the morning waking me up at 6 am.  Not today.  Today, I woke her up.

Then this evening as I was preparing to write my blog (not about her) she jumped on to the desk and crawled into my arms and began purring.  Then she turned her belly out so I could rub it.  This doesn’t happen very often, so I held her and loved on her as long as she allowed me to.  When she was done, she jumped into the other office chair and curled up for a nap.  My Wonder Filled Moment was loving on kitty Chula.

Unchartered Lands

I receive daily e-mails from Neal Donald Walsh and I wanted to share this one as it is such a good reminder to take that step. To know that you are alive is to the feel the excitement of doing something different, something new.

On this day of your life, dear friend, I believe God wants you to know...
...that it is time to move into unchartered lands.

If you want to do something you have never done before,
you have to do something you have never done before.
If you want to go somewhere you have never gone before,
you have to go somewhere you have never gone before.

You cannot do something new by doing old things. If
you want your life to change, you have to change your
life. So go ahead. It's safe. And it's also...about time.

Love, Your Friend....

Iris of a different color

Iris beautiful Iris.  When we moved into this house the yard needed a bit of work.  We moved Iris’s from the spaces where they did not make sense.  We put an entire band of them around the bushes and now you look at it and you can’t imagine it any other way it looks so right.  In addition to that, there was a spot with only two small Iris’.  We added a few to support their growth and now we’ve noticed that two of them are different then the rest.  They are a beautiful pinkish color.  They bloomed a bit later then the rest of the Iris’ and their color was so magnificent I snapped a few pics to share with you.  My Wonder Filled Moment was admiring the Iris’ of a different color.

"Thrive" and "Making Sense of the Sixties"

I was going to post some pictures of uniquely colored Irises but I could not get Blooger to download the pics.  So I decided to try those another day and pick a different moment to share.

Thrive or Making Sense of the 60's
I watched the documentary "Thrive" and enjoyed the questions asked and the process followed to get the answers.  The first question was "Why is humanity not thriving?" He takes you on a scientific journey that allows you to view the world with a more energetic and expansive view.  He was often surprised and in a bit of disbelief at the answers he was finding and where the trail led him too.

What surprised me most was my familiarity and belief of what he was talking about regarding the big money families.  I watched a video years ago called "Making Sense of the 60's" in which one of the Rockefellers was clear in their desire to keep woman in the workforce after WWII and to have children in a public school system where they can teach them to be consumers.  I don't recall the conclusion but I found it on youtube and am going to watch it again.  What I liked about Thrive is how it ended by giving us ideas of how we can begin to make changes in our own lives that may alter what the big money wants to occur.  We can choose not to be a part of it.  Making sense of the 60's talks about the counter culture of the hippies and what occurred in the 50's that would have led to the "Hippie Generation"!  As I said I have not seen it in quite a few years and will watch it again to see what I saw before and how it may relate to what I saw in Thrive.

Thrive was an interesting documentary and I liked the way it got me thinking about how I live my life and if there are changes I want to make in how I do some things.  I was glad to see that one of the things I've done recently was to change my checking account from one of the big banks to a local credit union.  It's one small step in not supporting what the 1% hope to accomplish.

If you haven't seen Thrive I strongly recommend it.  He is a scientist not a conspiracy theorist.  Then if your motivated and interested you can find Making Sense of the Sixties on youtube.  It is a seven part series on youtube, was a full documentary (I think) on PBS.

My Wonder Filled Moment was thinking about the power and strength each one of us has to take command of  our lives.  We need not be the victims of an oppressive minority who have the power and influence the decisions.  We are the ones with the true power, we just need to believe it and band together.

Yummy Veggies

Stir fry with local organic produce.  It was so much fun cutting and chopping all of the veggies, some of which I wasn’t even sure what they were.  What I can say is that it tasted awesome.  My Mom always had a garden with plenty of fresh veggies, tomatoes and cucumbers for canning, maybe beans and a few other things, but not like the stuff we get here.  I think there was kale and fennel and ?.  My Wonder Filled Moments were making a yummy veggie delight to share with my Hunny.

Going Global

One of the things that Blogger keeps track of is where the viewers of each blog are from.  I am happily surprised that this blog has gone a bit global.  I have had readers in 8 countries.  The United States, Russia, Germany, China, France, South Korea, Hungary and Poland.  I cannot say that I understand how people are finding me, but I sure am glad that they are.  I have been enjoying the process of assessing each day and trying to find the thing that brought me the most joy and wonder and telling you about it.

I have also been excited to notice that I have a few people who have subscribed to get their update of my writings via e-mail.  I think most find it through Facebook, but if you ever want it sent to your e-mail address just fill in that e-mail widget on the blog and it automatically happens.  I love modern technology, as long as I am not required to understand how it does what it does.  My Wonder Filled Moments were realizing that this blog is being read in many places around the world.
