Raven Magic

Gazing off toward Thunder Mountain from our back yard I noticed a few Raven's flying in my direction.  What a magical show they put on.  Dancing in tandem and then spiraling away in opposite directions.  By the time they were over head I counted 14.  It was truly a moment of Wonder.

Raven Medicine, Keynote: Magic, Shapeshifting, and Creation and the Cycle of Power is the Winter Solstice.  Animal Speaks, Ted Andrews  Quotes below stood out when I read a much longer description.
"If raven has come into your life, expect magic. Somewhere in your life, magic is at play. Raven activates the energy of magic, linking it with your will and intention."

"Each of us has a magician within, and it is Raven which can show us how to bring that
part of us out of the dark into the light."

Ravens are magical creatures in deed.  Watching them dance across the sky was truly a blessed moment.  We have passed the Winter Solstice and are coming back to the light. I am excited about magic entering my life? Are you feeling a new surge of magic?  What animals are speaking to you today.

Christmas Cloud

The weather this winter has been above normal allowing us to spend time in one of our favorite places, Our Back Yard.  Hanging out watching the clouds go by was a delightful way to spend some time on Christmas afternoon.

Can you see the Hummingbird in the cloud formation?  My Wonder Filled Moment was watching the clouds float by with Hunny and hanging with our four legged critters.

What was your wonder filled moment today?

Heart Felt Holiday Gifts

Some friends of ours stopped by the other day with unexpected gifts.  There are mesquite wood chunks for the fire place, treats for Magenta (wolf dog) and Chula (cat) and pendants on leather for David and I.

I put mine on today.  It landed directly over my heart, emanating energy that I could feel deep into my being, deep into my heart.  It's an interesting stone pendant carved in the center so that there is a round piece of it that floats.  The very center moves although it can not be taken out   They thought it was from Peru.

My Wonder Filled Moment of the day was experiencing the medicine gift in this beautiful pendant.

Feeling the Art

Relaxing in the bedroom the other day I found myself examining one of my paintings.  Just looking at it really, and dreaming.  I remembered the feeling I had as I watched that sunset over the desert hill.  How to this day I can hear a choir of Angels singing as I envision the last rays of the sun go to sleep. A Wonder Filled Moment in warmth and comfort on a cool winter day!

Friends and Backgammon

Hunny and I are not big entertainers, we seldom invite people over.  However, we decided it was time to see and visit with friends.  What better way to do so than with food, cheer and a little bit of Backgammon.
I was so happy I won the first game I played and then Rick took over and beat me two games in a row.  Ultimately he was the winner of our little tournament.  We had some wonderful snacks a yummy veggie chili and good conversations.  My Wonder Filled Moment of the weekend was having friends over and enjoying an afternoon of Backgammon.

Yappy Hour

The Sedona Parks and Recreations Department opens up the Posse Ground soccer field to Dogs every Thursday morning for one hour.  It's a great time for me to visit with friends and for Magenta to run on an open field of grass.  I love the feel I get when she sees me and starts running across the field.  Such joy and beauty.

How could you not feel happy seeing that face with a big smile running towards you.  This was a different outing, but that's how happy she is when she runs to us.

My Wonder Filled Moment today was watching Magenta run at Yappy Hour.

Road Runner Medicine

Today, as I was driving home a Road Runner ran directly in front of my car.  It almost seemed to look at me as I slowed, allowing it to cross in front of me.  I became very excited upon witnessing the Road Runner as I remembered it is a sign of delays ceasing and forward movement in life.  I know I've recently felt like things have shifted.  Just this week I began writing again.  Not forced writing, but easy flowing inspired writing.

When an animal clearly presents itself to me I often look up the Spiritual, Metaphysical, symbolic meanings or messages these animals bring.  Such as this:

"The Roadrunner, when it appears in your physical world, dreams and visions, or synchronicity is a sign of ending to delays, halts, fall backs and setbacks. You will find that things will move forward at this time in your life.

You will begin to feel really successful in the coming months as things appear to turn from worst to better. We have all chosen our own paths. We are to be people of courage and power, rather than being influenced and targeted by the outside realms and worlds."  Channeled by Quornesha S. Lemon aka Powerful Mystic 8, more information here.

I also think about my own experience with animal medicine when I am considering the message they are sharing with me.  The Roadrunner is an interesting and funny bird.  They can only fly for a few seconds but they can run up to 17 mph.  I think they have funny legs and I've witnessed them putting on a show!  Sticking their tail up and strutting a few feet than stomping with tail down, turning and then tail up strutting again.  So they make me laugh; a good reminder to not get stuck in the mundane and to remember to move your body, dance, play, run!  Then I ask clearly what is the message your bringing me today?  Then I just see what pops into my head.

Today, the message was great!  Keep your head up (it's head was up), go for what you want (jumped off the curb) as the time is upon you.  There was good bit of traffic on the road, yet it cleared open for the Roadrunner, a clear message the road is clear, delays are over!  Move forward!  Woo Hoo!  Kind of fits with Quornesha's message about the Roadrunner.

My Wonder Filled Moment was seeing the Roadrunner cross my path and receiving it's message clearly.  Thanks Roadrunner.

Moments of Wonder.

I've been inspired to begin writing again and find I am quite surprised at how long it has been since I last wrote on this blog.  I have had many wonder filled moments in the last four years but there has also been some sadness and difficulty.  Most of which is simply a part of life.

One of my favorite wonder filled moments of the last four years is that I got married.  In 2014 Hunny and I had a beautiful April wedding in Sedona Arizona.  Having lived here for 13 years at that time I was very happy to have my Mom and other family see where I lived.

One of the difficult moments of that weekend was the realization that my Mom was not all there.  She had clear symptoms of the beginning of Dementia.  By June we were told that we needed to move her into Assisted Living before December.  With the help of my cousin Glorina we were able to get her into a new apartment by October of that year.  Although she has moved since then and there have been some ups and downs for the most part she is doing great.  I have since learned about what they call diabetic dementia and realize that is probably what is really occurring with her.  I don't know that the doctors say that but it seems pretty clear to me she is much better mentally when her blood sugar is low and balanced for a period of time.

Many of my wonder filled moments over the last four years has been Magenta, Our Wolf Dog.
OMG does she make us laugh.  She is a major photo bomber, jumping in front of the camera!  Of course she is often the reason the camera comes up.
Are you my new family?
I never had a dog before and Hunny tells me Wolf Hybrids are a bit more wild then other dogs and have a mind of their own.  (she was a rescue, so we do not know her actual mix, but Hunny has had wolf dogs before.)  I have no comparison so I just accept her as she is and of course, being the Alpha female I have learned that she needs to know I am in charge.  Than she can play and have fun and be safe.  We do have fun and she needs to get out every day, meaning we get our exercise too.
Shaking off
What?
I'll get it!

I can finally rest.
Kitty Chula
And of course we can not forget Kitty Chula!  Watching the two of them learn how to be around each other and get along without anyone getting hurt can be a bit of a hoot!  I see this 7 pound cat causing the 65 pound dog to look away and go down to her belly.  It's amazing.  I have also seen them looking out the windows together.
Always ready for action!
Magenta and Chula looking out the windows from the office.
During the last four years I have had many many Wonder Filled Moments.  I have begun writing this blog again.  I do this to remind myself about all of those moments that are overlooked because of the stress of the day.  The Wonder Filled Moments blog focuses me on searching for that moment and by the end of the day I find I usually have many moments to chose from.

Look for those wonder filled moments in your life and share if inspired.

Linda G
