Singing in the Desert

A few friends and I went out into the desert far enough so that you do not hear the traffic on the road.  About 5 miles I think.  We found an open space where we could watch the sunset in the west over the mountains and look back at Sedona as the Red Rocks Glowed.  However, it was very cloudy.  There was not much of a sunset and we could not see the stars in the sky.  Our other reason for going out to the middle of the desert, great star gazing.

But we had some yummy snacks and awesome company.  We ate, we sang, we laughed and we laughed, oh and did I tell you how much we laughed.  My Wonder Filled Moments were experiencing that full body laugh and having difficulty stopping.  I am smiling big just thinking about it.  Find a reason to laugh today and make it a full body laugh.

Being Witness

As I was thinking about this blog, I wondered if I need to continue writing it.  I am not writing on a daily basis any more.  So I thought about why?  I still have wonder filled moments every single day and I do witness these moments. I know for a while I was having major issues with my internet, but that is fixed and no longer an issue.

Looking back to my first post, January 11th, 2013, I said:
"So my challenge for myself is to see something beautiful, loving, caring, funny, miraculous and awe inspiring each day and share it with you.  It will be a brief message, just a note to allow you/me to see and hear something positive. To know that you too can have wonder filled moments if you look for them."

Hmmmm!  I feel my challenge has been a successful.  I do think about the positive things that occurred each day.  Some are simply a part of every day life and I have probably written about them before, so I don't write.    I think I will continue to write for this blog, as often as I am inspired to.  Some friends reminded me that it's my blog I make the rules.  I may post daily and I may not.  Sometimes I do not post simply because I am engrossed in another project and do not want to stop that.  Looking back at the past 208 posts, witnessing how I am experiencing my life, I realized is my many Wonder Filled Moment of the day.  I think I like the way things are going and I do believe that this blog has helped me to see all of those wonders in my life.  May you have the time to assess how your life is going and witness all of the wonders in your life.

Connecting with another soul

A friend stopped over yesterday after work.  We had such a nice visit.  We walked around the medicine wheel in the backyard and talked.  That’s it, that was my Wonder Filled Moment, I so enjoyed hanging out with a lovely soul and connecting.

Dancing in the Kitchen

Hunny is going on a little road trip with some buddies, and he asked if I would make some of my "infamous" potato salad for their lunch.  I said sure.  He sliced all of the celery, onions, pickles, I cut the  potatoes.  I mixed it up with all of my favorite potato salad spices and a few of his.  We topped it off with boiled eggs, mmm good, don't forget the salad supreme to make it look pretty.  It was fun to dance in the kitchen with Hunny creating and moving around each other as we each did our parts.  Those were my Wonder Filled Moments, dancing in the kitchen with My Hunny.

Living my dream!

My Wonder Filled Moment of the day is this one right here, right now.  As I was pondering my day I felt my heart swell with the most wonderful feeling of love.  Love for self, love for others, love for the world I live in.  I am so blessed to be living the life of my choice, of my dream (although I did not know this was my dream.)

There was a time when I thought my dream was something else, and it was.  Through the process of living I changed my dream.  I imagine next year I will have a different dream or the one I am in now will continue.  May your dreams fill your heart with love as mine continue to fill my heart with love.

Deer in the back yard!

Yesterday with feet planted on the ground I had a wonderful meditation. Upon opening my eyes very softly I noticed movement to my left.  I slowly gazed over and there on the other side of our little wall stood a young deer walking slowly between the homes, beautiful.  I love that although I live in a small city it is surround by wilderness allowing us to mingle with the wild occasionally.
Not a picture of the actual deer.

Deer Medicine is Gentleness.
"Deer teaches us to use the power of gentleness to touch the hearts and minds of wounded beings who are trying to keep us from Sacred Mountain."  Full description in  The Medicine Cards, by Jamie Sams and David Carson.  Thank you Great Spirit for reminding me to be gentle with myself as well as with others.  My Wonder Filled Moment of the day.

Sunset, after an extreme hike

A few friends and I did a hike that I will write more in depth about on my other blog, Let Spirit Lead the Way.  The end of the hike left us watching this awesome sunset, followed by the moon rise.  There were numerous Wonder Filled Moments on this adventure but the sunset topped it all.  Enjoy the pics.

Peek-a-boo

My little girl came out to play today!  I was working at a SW Native Jewelry Show at one of the local resorts.  August is notoriously one of our slower seasons for tourists.  Today was no exception.  We set up tables in the lobby area of the resort, where the free coffee and computers are.  Usually, if we want a snack we take a break and step outside.  It’s hot, and I didn’t like it outside, so I came back in.  One of my co-workers was making fun of me, chewing as I was.  So I sat in a chair behind a pillar to finish chewing.  When I peeked out, she was still looking at where I was and we started laughing and I sunk back into the chair behind the pillar.  Someone said something about acting like a baby and I decided to peek out the other side of the pillar.  Another co-worker joined in the peek-a-boo game and we and our boss proceeded to laugh hysterically. Those were my Wonder Filled Moments of the Day.  What were yours?

Mmm Good!

Egg Plant Mozzarella
We receive a box of local organic veggies every week.  When we decided to do this I knew there would be things I’ve never eaten before.   Egg Plant is one of them.  I looked up a recipe and found this fabulous recipe at www.allrecipes.com.  I would have never imagined cutting a vegetable into slices, stacking the slices on a paper towel, (with sea salt between each slice) and then placing a paper towel on top and another plate over that and finally two big books to weigh it down.   This gets the moisture out.  After that is the cooking process.  The meal was fabulous, sorry no pic, did not know it was going to be my Wonder Filled Moment of the day.  I urge you to go outside of your comfort zone and try different food, you never know what you could be missing.
