Floating through the Universe

It was nearing 90 degrees Fahrenheit when we left home at 9:30 am, with predictions of temperatures reaching 108 degrees Fahrenheit by mid-day.  I couldn’t wait to get into the water.  Once we arrived we had a little hike to reach our creek location and then I immediately stepped in, only ankle deep to begin with.  It took a few minutes to completely immerse myself but once in the water I was filled with delight at the silky coolness of the water on my skin.

I swam a bit, did some water exercises, and then I floated.  Lying on my back in the center of the creek, hearing only the sound of the water and feeling my body turning ever so softly in the current was amazing.  The gentle floating sensation allowed me to feel as though I was floating through the Universe.  In that brief moment I was flying through galaxies, between planets and around suns and in an instant I returned to the sensation of floating in the creek.  Wow, what a trip!  The air was hot, the water cool and the sounds of the rapids above and below us brought many relaxing sighs.  A few ahhhheee it's cold from the two of us as we played in the water could be heard as well.

Thank You Hunny for taking me to the creek.

Farmers Market

Yesterday a friend and I went to the Farmers Market to pick up a few things.  I always enjoy the market.  I usually see someone I haven't seen in a while and have the opportunity to visit and catch up.  Then there is the music to listen to and the smells and the tastes of all kinds of yummy foods.  For dinner I made a yummy salad with organic tomatoes and a Greek cucumber.  My Wonder Filled Moments were visiting with my friend and buying yummy produce and then making a yummy salad with it.

Outdoor Swamp Cooler?

Last night when I was watering our potted herb garden I decided it was time to water all plants in the yard, this included sprinkling the entire bush.  After doing so I was amazed at the difference in the temperature around the plants.  I had been over to the side of the house and felt the warm heat of the day rising from the ground.  Walking between the house and the wet bushes and plants there was a pleasant coolness emanating from them.  It was like having a swamp cooler outside.  My Wonder Filled Moments were enjoying the coolness in our back yard sanctuary.

The stitches are out.

Yesterday when I sat down to write my blog I was interrupted by my cat.  Little Miss Chula had the stitches removed from her tail yesterday afternoon.  She was lying down in the bedroom when I sat at the computer, but within minutes she came dashing out and jumped into my arms.  Her tail was so tender that she was going a bit crazy.  While in my arms she kept trying to get higher on my shoulder until the only thing on my chest was her tail.  When it bugged her she would hiss at it, growl at it and hold on to me even tighter.  After a few hours, I couldn't take it anymore.  I finally put her in her carrying case/cage.  She didn’t like that very much and when her tail irritated her she would try to get it.  With her growling and hissing and then moving crazily after it I found myself sitting on the floor next to her, talking to her to calm her down.  Finally, at about 10:00pm I called the vet.  She told me that the suture was healed so she really couldn’t hurt it.  Keep the e-collar on for a few more days and if necessary bring her in and we can wrap it again.

My Wonder Filled Moment was knowing that she was unlikely to really hurt herself.  She finally calmed down when I let her out of the cage and stayed in the bedroom with her so she could hold on to me. After a restless night, she is doing great today.  She is leaving her tail alone and moving around the house like all is well.
