Living in a
tourist town there are places the locals try to avoid. One of those places is, Uptown Sedona. Out garage sale-ing, we found there was only
one sale in the entire area! It was a
breakfast day. We were already near
uptown Sedona, so headed up 89A. We
parked in front of the Hitching Post Restaurant, a place that I had not been to
in many, many years. We decided to check
it out, and were pleasantly surprised.
It was one of the best breakfasts we’ve had on our excursions. After breakfast we checked out a few jewelry
shops and the gem shop. On our way back to
the car I noticed “Harmony Park” and immediately headed in that direction. The girls followed.
There are three
Xylophones, set in a triangle for visitors to stop and play music, and the one large one to the side. What a wonderful concept. The joy we felt in picking up the drum sticks
and softly banging them over the graduated series of bars was immense. I was picking up my feet, swinging my hips
and dancing as I strummed the bars with my wooden hammers. It was great fun. My Wonder Filled Moment of the day was letting
my little girl out to play and dance with her girlfriends.
In Gratitude,
Linda G
