I was
sitting at my desk looking out the window and thinking about my blog. What should I write about this fine day? I allowed my mind to wander as I gazed at
Thunder Mountain. I love living in
Northern Arizona, at 4500 feet above sea level we get all four seasons, yet
none are too extreme. My Hunny says, “Sedona
is kind of like Goldilocks, Phoenix is way too hot, Flagstaff is way too cold,
and Sedona is just right.” I gaze out the
window again, big flakes of snow floating to the ground. Deep breath, I can’t help it my heart is
full, the snow just seems magical to me. In case you do not know, I grew
up in Northern, Minnesota and I liked the crispness of the snow and how it
sparkled in the sun, it was different then the snow here, colder and dryer. I thought I would share a poem I wrote, in 2001, my first year in Sedona
Arizona.
Desert Snow
As it lands
on my face
Falling,
dancing, hitting the ground
I LAUGH at
the snow
As the moon
cheers it on
Falling,
dancing, hitting the ground
I LAUGH at
the snow!
For tomorrow
It will be
gone.

Remember the
snow from this afternoon. It’s gone
now. No shoveling, it just melts. I do love the high desert in Arizona.
